Cat Breed Profiles

How many cat breeds are there? It depends on which source you consult, as many breeds are either in the early developmental stages, have been recognized in the area in which they evolved but not elsewhere, or are only recognized by one or two cat associations. My research suggests that there were 93 partially or fully established breeds as of summer 2010 (this list does not include extinct or experimental breeds).
